Just Thinking..........

What is it we call this part of the season ? The 'business end' ? Magnificently, Norwich City have concluded their most important transactions. Canary fans have the luxury of enjoying what is left of the campaign, free from the worry of relegation. As usual, affairs at the bottom of the table are tense and tangled. Wolves look destined for the drop, and collectively, Wigan, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers and QPR all look hellbent on joining them. Any of that group who string two or three wins together will stay up. But more probably, they will all continue to scrape out a point here and there, as they have done all year. I have no particular personal favourites when it comes down to survival, although I will say Wigan have been excellent in recent times, including their visit to Carrow Road. They always try to play a bit of football as well, so good luck to them in the coming weeks. After the first half dozen matches of the season it was clear that Norwich City were not amongst the three worst teams in the Premier League. And so it proved, with quite a large margin to spare. I will enjoy this forthcoming relegation battle - not so I can gloat that my team are well safe from it but more because it is such prolonged spectacle that makes English football so special.
